I've been seeing a lot of those bib necklaces around the blog/etsy world.
At first I thought they were a little weird. . .
Then, at some point, that idea gave way to the inclination to buy one. . .
But yesterday I decided to make one instead. . .

So for those of you who want to make one for yourself, I made another one to demonstrate how I did it.
[I am also having a GIVEAWAY for the example one. . . scroll down to the end of this post to see how to win!]
Here's the how-to:
You need:
Fabric, scissors, hot glue gun, felt, chain, jewelry clasp:

1] Pick some fabric colors that compliment each other
[or one color- it's up to you!].
2] Cut fabric into strips- about an inch wide and in various lengths
[anywhere from 5-12 inches long]

3] Fold or roll the fabric length-wise
[this does not have to be done excessively neatly. . . a little bit of imperfection can actually make this a little more charming!]

4] Make a knot in the end of the rolled strip of fabric.

5] Wrap the fabric about 1/2 inch of the way around the knot and hot glue that spot to the knot.

6] Twist the fabric and wrap again, also securing with hot glue

7] Continue until you have used all the fabric- secure the end to the bottom of the flower with hot glue.

Ta-da! Beautiful fabric flower.

8] Complete steps 3-7 for all fabric flowers. . . they should be various sizes to achieve [my] desired affect.
9] Once you have made all of your flowers, play around with them until you find a way of placing them that is pleasing to you.

10] Set your desired pattern of flowers on the felt.

11] Hot glue the flowers to the felt.

12] Add any embellishments you desire. . .
I chose pearls :]

13] Cut away the excess felt.

14] Attach chain or ribbon the the back of the felt to make it into a necklace.

I did this by stitching the chain onto the back. . .

And then I hot glued felt pieces to secure and cover the stitches.

And there you have it:
A lovely bib necklace

. . . that I am giving away!
