Framed Dog Print Tutorial [Pottery Barn Inspired]

Aren't these dog prints at the Pottery Barn stinkin' cute?


I especially like the silhouettes. . . like this one:


But. . . aside from the fact that the pottery barn wants over $50 for the prints [on sale]I don't want a strange dog on my wall - I want my Ali baby:


So. . .
It took about 10 bites of hamburger, but I finally got a good profile shot of her[bribery will get you anywhere with a puppy!]:


I don't have a spiffy editing software like photoshop. . .
But, photobucket actually has a feature that allows you to erase the background of a picture.
It pretty much sucks, and you have to tweek most of it yourself, but it works [and it's free!]


Like so:


Once you've cleared the background, upload into picasa [or editing software of your choice] and darken the image:


Then I used microsoft paint to clean up the image with the "paintbrush". . .


And the final result, framed and on my mantel:
