Have you heard of handmade with purpose?
Not gonna lie, I'm pretty excited about this!
Lindsay @ Paint Me a Picture has organized this wonderful opportunity for handmade shops to give back to the community...
It's a wonderful idea.
Each shop/blog gets to pick a charity of their choice...
And proceeds from their sales in the month of April will go to support the charity.

"Compassion International exists as a Christian child advocacy ministry that releases children from spiritual, economic, social and physical poverty and enables them to become responsible, fulfilled Christian adults. Today, Compassion helps more than 1 million children in 26 countries."
It's a wonderful organization...
That's why

of Mandipidy's sales in April will go to help support their cause.
Like so:

Guys, $8 adds up.
I'm looking over at the 850 followers in my sidebar...
If just 50 of you were to buy a print this month, we could raise $400 that will go to clothing, feeding, educating, and encouraging precious children around the world.
But why limit it to the month of April?
It costs $38 dollars a month to provide a child with food and clean water,
medical care, educational opportunities, and important life-skills training.

If we raise at least $100 this month, Mandipidy will commit a permanent percentage of profits toward sponsoring a child through Compassion International. As I receive updates on our sponsored child, I will share the information with you... I think that it would be a neat thing for us as a blog community to be able to see a tangible example of the good that is a result of your giving.
If we fail to reach our goal, a one-time donation will be made to Compassion International that they can put towards helping unsponsored children.
I hope you are as excited about this as I am!
Maybe you don't like prints [understandable]
Or you don't want to help kids [hmmm....?]
Please, please, please check out some of the other causes that other shops are giving to over at handmade with purpose.
Let's give back in the month of April!
*everyone puts a hand into the center*

Mandy!
This is awesome. Thank you so much for participating.
I do love your prints & helping kids, but I'm a little wary of donating to an organization whose mission is to proselytize to kids who need so, so much more.
Hi Kate- I agree that it would be wrong to support a charity that ignored the physical needs of a child and was only interested in converting them to Christianity. That's why I chose an organization that feeds, clothes, and educates children, AND shares God's love with them at the same time. :]
